Hard to imagine Paris 'quiet' during les J.O.!! Rhubarb, eh...? Jamais de la vie! Well, maybe someday... I look forward to someday trying some of your wonderful recipes...cooked by you, chez vous! Salut à Monsieur B. :-)
The French outDID themselves! I thought the entire ceremony was spectacular. The rain didn’t seem to dampen the spirit at all. My only 🫤, was Lady Gaga. The French performers and the use of the Seine was 🤩! The topper for me, Miss Celine, singing for the first time, in her native language, from the Eiffel Tower balcony. Pour LA has to try and top this for the 2028 Olympics… where did you watch the ceremony? French friends? Expats? We’re the French happy? 🤷♀️
I agree. I thought it was incredibly imaginative and daring! There were so many moments I liked and just the idea of what they undertook to make it happen. The bleu-blanc-rouge smoke on the bridge was so cool and I loved the robot horse on the river too!!
As to the French, the media here are largely positive and everyone seems proud, even if they quibble a bit here and there. All in all AMAZING
Returning to say I listened to The French Ingredient on a long drive - it was great, appreciate the reco! And cringing to think of my faux pas at an admired interior designer's Parisian shop last year (yes, my American self saw something small and lovely and...touched it)!
Haha yes the dreaded touching! This applies at the market as well, unless they have piles of small baskets and you see other people using them. I'm so glad you liked the book! I'll add some more reccos soon :-)
I’m loving all your content! My first trip is in September for 6 weeks solo as I discover where i might want to live in retirement. I’ll only have about 48 hours in Paris at the beginning but will likely have 3 or 4 days at the end too. But your articles are helping me feel more confident. Keep up the great work!
Salut and thank you for sharing this! So exciting that you are considering planning your retirement in France. Let me know if you have other questions !!
