Dear sweet Karen, today is the opening day of the Winter Olympics in Italy and this Sunday is the Super Bowl in Calif. The Winter Olympics goes on for 2 weeks. So no absence of sporting events.

I don't celebrate anything in February, actually. No Chandeleur, no Valentine's Day, no Super Bowl, I'm not even doing the Olympics. But I AM obsessively watching the weather for a possible getaway!
A bit of reframing on Valentine's Day -- sometimes we do something special. But this year the agricultural high school (lycée agricole) where my husband was a teacher many moons ago is hosting this huge alumni/former employee/agricultural world types event and the date is Saturday February 14th! I found that really odd. But we are going.
Yes, a bit strange on the timing for the alumni event but it sounds interesting, and more so if you weren't planning on celebrating la Saint-Valentin anyway! Also, I love a weather-driven getaway, or really any type of getaway for that matter. Can't wait to hear where you're off to on your next adventure!
I won’t be celebrating Valentine’s Day but I will celebrate the Super Bowl, and not for the football. It’s an American celebration and the commercials and snacks are good enough for me. Also, another snow day here today so I cancelled work and appointments. I can’t complain!
I’m all for the food, love it!!! And yes the commercials are always awesome. Also I gave a link to your substack yesterday to a lady who loves hiking and is planning a trip to France. I think she may be from Ohio too ❣️❣️
